WILL YOU JOIN ME?: Reflection and implementation of Inclusion and Diversity Strategy in Erasmus+
Start date: Jan 1, 2016, End date: Oct 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The seminar "WILL YOU JOIN ME?: Reflection and implementation of Inclusion and Diversity Strategy in Erasmus+" will analyze the inclusion strategy of Erasmus+ as a tool to empower the partner organizations who work with young people with fewer opportunities on local level to get international within Erasmus+. This will encourage several of our Don Bosco partner organisations for greater inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities in international activities. We have noticed that over the years number of such activities dropped significantly in our network therefore we will empower our partners towards organizing them.We consider this project to be very important as it is going to create a big wave in Europe especially in the Don Bosco world. All most all of the partners who are taking part in this seminar are already working with young young people with fewer opportunities; unemployed, from a poor economic and social back ground and NEETS in the local level. This project will enable these organisations to get international. Some of them have difficulties to access international projects, or for partners to rearrange their work internationally. The analysis of the Inclusion strategy within Erasmus+ projects, will create a better approach and guidance towards, during and after international projects. This better approach and the lower barriers to participate, will it make more easy for partners to make international project more accessible for young people and young NEETs. Erasmus+ actions are an ideal mobility projects such as Youth exchanges where they can reach out to larger group of young people. Age-wise you can already start from 13 years old. This creates opportunities for our member organisations to develop youth exchanges, long and short term EVS during an international summer camp, as well as a summer meeting of older volunteers around a specific topic. Next to this is it a good format to include young people facing fewer opportunities in an international mobility project. In youth projects young people come in group, and are supported by youth leaders from their sending organization. This is very important to lower the barriers for their participation. Youth programmes within Youth in Action have always been of interest for some of the organisations taking part in this seminar. However in Erasmus+ these member organisations have not been applying for them as much as in the past. This seminar wants to give a boost to bring youth programmes back to the agenda of our members, and initiate the future creation of Erasmus+ projects. This will happen through exchange of experiences, presentation of the possibilities offered by the Erasmus+ Programme, sessions about project planning and networking. The seminar is taking place from the 10th till the 13th of March in Assel, The Netherlands. There are 24 particpants, 2 facilitators and 1 staff member and one coordinator from the hosting organisation are joining. The participants are staff members or volunteers involved in the organisation of international projects, in particular of EVS and youth exchanges. After this seminar we expect a stronger commitment of all the participating organisations in developing high quality projects in the field of youth, in particular using the framework of Erasmus+
