The Project is directed towards the second class students of The Technical High School im. Armii Krajowej in Wysokie Mazowieckie from mechatronics department (9 students) and mechanics department (18 students). It answers the need of vocational education in our region, local employees and most of all – all the students studying in the school mentioned above.
In September 2011 the teachers of vocational subjects conducted research using the interview method. Its aim was to identify employers expectations towards vocational schools graduates. 24 employers from mechanics and mechatronics branch from Wysokie Mazowieckie disctrict took part in it. As a result of the analysis it was found out that all the employers from every of the analysed branch are interested in employees having skills which exceed basic educational level. They have no founds to extend their employees knowledge. What is more, they expect having professional practical skills and good theoretical preparation in the fields of a foreign language knowledge (79%), technical computer software (50%), maintenance of devices connected with the profession, e.g. maintenance of technical devices or machines within the framework of the profession: machine tool CNC (70%), specialist meters (70% ). Moreover, based on the graduates careers analysis from the branches mentioned above, it was ascertained that only 5 out of 38 graduates from 2011 perform a learned profession.
The employers emphasize that current level of preparation the young people graduating from vocational high schools is low and they have no founds for trainings needed to take up a job. This situation confirms that the educational system is not adapted to the market needs.
The project raises following topics: problem of unemployment amongst young people living in Wysokie Mazowieckie district, foreign languages teaching and learning – as key competences and recognition of education described by certification.
The aim of the project is employment abilities intensification of 27 Technical High School students from Wysokie Mazowieckie with reference to the local labor market demands thanks to taking part in foreign traineeship in the profession of mechatronics technician and mechanics technician realised together with the partner Kayseri Teknik ve Endustri Meslek Lisesi in school year 2014/2015.
We expect that after realisation of this project the traineeship participants:
• will gain skills expected by the employers,
• thanks to current theoretical and practical knowledge using modern information technology they will achieve better results on the external vocational exam,
• will be more competitive on labour market and will increase their chances for employment,
