Start date: Dec 1, 2016, End date: Nov 30, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Project „Total Seller” is meant for the students of Secondary Vocational and Technical School, attending the Bolesław Prus Commerce Schools in Katowice, teaching seller- and commerce technician professions. There are 32 students planned to participate in the project, being 16 to 20 year old. The Secondary Vocational School students are educated by employers as adolescent workers, while the Technical School students participate in one month apprenticeships. The education ends with a state vocational examination. A large group of students come from families of a low financial status. They are involved in after school activities and engaged in apprenticeships. The group has hardly any views for further education and there is a risk that they may finish their education earlier than they should. Students have never had a chance to take part in foreign apprenticeships nor to use any other additional education opportunities abroad.Facing a huge group of competitors, the graduate, who is just entering the job market, needs to be characterized with above-average knowledge and skills as well as broad variety of social skills. Competitiveness of employees on European market consists in continuous professional skills and knowledge improvement. Experience exchange and knowledge transfer between Polish students and Italian employers lets confront the previous students’ knowledge with European market requirements. The school`s ambition is to implement innovative vocational education forms. We would like our students to gain additional skills, which would enable them performing their professional activities on the possibly highest level and speak foreign language fluently.School is planning to organize 3 weeks apprenticeships for 2 16-people groups, which would make up an additional work experience in the international environment (as the school does not abandon obligatory professional trainings resulting from teaching program). The project participants will be obliged to take part in obligatory trainings in Poland and additional apprenticeship abroad, which scope goes beyond basic teaching program. The foreign apprenticeship will be realized in the retail shops in Italy. Each participant, apart from gaining knowledge and skills in the area of A.18 qualifications - Sales, will attend professional training, extending their job competences. They could choose between following options: 1. Barista skills, 2. Making flower arrangments,3. Ice cream seller, 4. Creating window displays. These trainings will be a part of apprenticeship. Kind of training will be determined by the type of shop, in which the training and apprenticeship will be held. The foreign apprenticeship is a great chance for mutual experience exchange, gaining practical skills, and learning how to create team-spirit and acquire entrepreneurship features (activity and dynamics) on the job market.Particular goals of the Project are:- implementing innovation in sellers` education- gaining new professional competences, in the area of: barista skills, making flower arrangements, ice-cream selling and creating window displays, - gaining additional professional experience on the international market, in the area of sales and customer service- learning foreign languages in the foreign environment,- supporting teaching based on modern IT technologies.Expected results:- granting the documents accepted in Europe and certificates confirming completion of apprenticeship, which enable the international acceptance of qualifications and skills transfer (ECVET),- improving language skills and using foreign language in practice, especially in typically job-related circumstances (foreign job-related terminology),- Personal development,- learning to work in international team and foreign customer service- realization of European School Development Plan (improving qualifications of administration and teaching staff, modifications of teaching program and adaptation to dynamic job market, extending school offer with foreign apprenticeships, increasing employers` role in education process)- extending students` professional skills which would enable effective presence on the job market.Students coming back from the foreign traineeship will be motivation for other students.Foreign cooperation will contribute to introduce some changes in school management, e.g. in building and developing of skills assessment system (ECVET). Gained experience and skills will promote the cooperation with European environment.
