FINISHED
"Where the world meets" project is the cooperation between seven volunteers and eight organisations. Differences between them lies in language, culture, education, gender, age but also personalities. Their voluntary service on the edge of their worlds could help in: building a common understanding and intercultural dialogue between people from different backgrounds, raising global connections awareness and using the global education in local activities, learning from each other (volunteers and partner organisations) and supporting young people in getting new competencies they can use in the future on the labour market. Activities planned will take place between August 2015 and January 2017. Polish volunteers will go to Palestine, Russia and Portugal to support the receiving organisations, which are offering support to children and youth with fewer opportunities, enabling dialogue between different social groups, as well as, promotion of art and culture among youth. Four volunteers from Russia, Hungary, Germany and Irleand will come to Poland to support work done by Stowarzyszenie "Jeden Świat" in the areas connected to the global education. The same time all volunteers will collect stories from where the world meets to post them on “Jeden Świat” blog and use them for preparation of educational materials including publication.
The project will be implemented by eight organisations: Stowarzyszenie "Jeden Świat" (Poland) acting as coordinating, hosting and sending organisation, , Check-In (Portugal), Human Supporters Association (Palestine), The Center of Culture and Tourism of Kirov Region (Russian Federation) acting as receiving organisations as well as Sfera Movement (Russian Federation), Utilapu Hungary ( Hungary), Haus am Maiberg (Germany) and Voluntary Service International (Irleand) acting as sending organisations. We will use non-formal eduction approach and methods and we will promote the advantage of the innovative working methods and self-development such voluntary service among beneficiaries of the project.
