What actually happens, when a war is over? While most people are well informed, when a war is ongoing, knowledge about the mechanisms that are used to rebuild a country after war is very slim. Mostly attention occurs only again, when that peace- and statebuilding efforts becomes troublesome. We will change the knowledge about "Peace after War" for youth workers and youth leaders in a study visit in Bosnia and Herzegovina and will develop new tools to spread this knowledge further on. Dinara Forum - Dinara L'ateneu will organize a 15-day study visit with training units for 33 participants from 27 organisations out of 26 countries. We will introduce the participants to the details and backgrounds of the collapse of the former Yugoslavia and the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina to then jointly investigate the international and local efforts to bring the war to an end through subsequent peace treaties and military intervention. After this introduction we will investigate thoroughly the joint national and international efforts to restore peace, to reconstruct the country, to achieve return of the refugees and displaced and to create reconciliation. In the focus of our investigation will also be the international effort to support the building of a functioning Bosnian state. We will then altogether visit 15 municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well in the Federation BiH as in the Srpska Republika and meet a large number of national and international organisation directly involved in the peace- and statebuilding effort. We will organize six meetings and debates with youth and other organisations. We will also attend the annual commemoration of the Srebrenica genocide. In the end we are going to jointly create a documentation about our visit and a toolbox of films and other materials for the further through participating and interested organsations. With the travel study visit we will also make visible to the participants, how much international involvement today also depends on the involvement (be it as civil society members or experts) to do peace- and state building
