'Workplace learning in Finland' promotes truckdriver and electrician for young people of 16 years old.'Workplace-learning in Finland' is for the final students of the Technisch Instituut Sint-Lodewijk a on-the-job-learning in Finland.Students of the 7th year (vocational) 'Bijzonder Transport' learn in a transportcompany in Finland to prepare and to carry out transport orders. They learn to apply the law about transport bussines, to plan and to calculate theire itinerary and fuel consumption. They learn to make comparisons between different kinds of transportations, to take conclusions and to chear (oral and written) personal experiences. Students of the 6th year (technical) 'Elektrische Installatietechnieken' learn to install, to program and to start up electrical and electronic applications in the project NeSCEN. NeSCEN is a regional project in cooperation with SAMKT (Satakunta University of Applied Sciences in Pori, Finland).NeSCEN build a trainings-area for futher constructors, electricians en nurses in our partnerschool Sataedu, Finland.'Workplace-learning in Finland':- offers our students help acquiring theire competences (knowledge, skills and attitudes) in order to improve their personal development and employability in Europe and beyond,- improves academic performance of our students,- increases the sense of initiative and entrepreneurship of our students (new technologies offer opportunities to entrepreneurship)- improve the career prospects of our students (truckdriver and electrician)- increase self-reliance and self-esteem of our students,- increase knowledge of foreign languages (English is the lingua franca) and- increase the awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries by setting up international contacts and so to participate into social life and to develop a sense of European citizenship and identity.'Workplace-learning in Finland' expecting for the teachers involved the following results:- improved competencies,- improved knowledge of foreign languages,- wider understanding of practices , policies and systems in the field of education,- improved quality of their work on behalf of students,- better understanding of the interrelationships between formal and non- formal education, vocational training and labor market,- more support for and promotion of mobility activities for students and- stronger motivation and more satisfaction in their daily work .Students participating in 'Workplace learning in Finland' will be prepared through a eTwinning project.Students who succeed in this internship abroad get a Europass mobility certificate.Activities and project results will be published on the websites and the Facebook pages of the Technisch Instituut Sint-Lodewijk and Sataedu.
