The background of project (course in Munich for promoting German studying) is the concern for reduced learning of optional languages in Rovaniemi. The course consists of working in international groups for making good arguments for importance of German language with help of the materials of organisators. To explore the city of Munich is also a part of the programme, as well as to actualisize the knowledge of German(y). The applicant is a German teacher in one of the Upper secondary schools in Rovaniemi. She wants to acquire methods to motivate more pupils in her school to take German as an optional subject and to encourage them to carry on until the matriculation exam. Her wish is on the course to get know colleagues from European countries in order to later be able to start a project in common.After the course the participant will inform other teachers of optional languages in the city. It would be ideal if teachers would use the methods from the course and get more pupils interested in their language. Specially in the lower grades the language A2 should be made more popular.
