"Wellness and Environment (WE)" is a youth exchange, Key Action 1 of the Erasmus+ program.The project will take place in Ajaccio (Corsica, France) from September 18th to 26th 2016. It involves 25 participants from three countries. For each country, five or six young people from 16 to 25 years old and a referent group leader over 18 years old will participate and an supporting person. At least half of the group will be youngsers with fewer opportunities or with disabilities. 2 supervisors and 2 educators specialised for disable participants are also counted.The project is organized by the Centre of Youth and Sport of Corsica (CSJC) which is an institution promoting sports and culture toward young people.WE is the result of the motivation of a previous participant to build a project offering a reflection on the physical and mental well-being including the place of human in nature but also the impact on the environment and change climate. These themes were chosen specifically because of current concerns about the state of the planet and new jobs related to the environment.The WE project aims at raising awareness of urban youth to the natural environment as well as human impacts on nature to build alternatives and minimize the consequences and promote a behavior change. The activities related to this theme are immersion in nature with outdoor sports and the discovery of the environment, wellness activities, visits to alternative news sites, testimonials and entrepreneurship workshops.The objectives of this youth exchange is to promote the physical and mental well-being, but also the power to act on climate change, by giving participants the opportunity to be in action, a collective work based on issues open on welfare, sports, health, nature and the environment through the implementation and organization of an exhibition showing the results of these reflections. These reflections can lead to a real awareness and can result from a professional commitment to the field. The CSJC will offer information on the subject.The project was specifically designed to:1. Develop the concept of wellness and healthy living among youth including physical and mental health2. Develop awareness of the positive and negative impact of humans on the environment3. Raise awareness of new alternatives, individual and local solutions and promote empowerment.This project can be used as a vector for integration and change, it has many advantages for the participants:- A break from the daily that can act as a revitalization tool;- Awareness well being, to nature, to the human impact on the environment and behavior change.- A social, cultural and linguistic diversity profoundly altering the encounter with the other; an openness to the world;- The acquisition of non-formal skills (management, taking responsibility, etc.).- Learn to live together with our differences and learn from each other and with each other and accepting diversity.- Develop knowledge about the European Union, Europe and its diversity and sense of belonging. Reflecting on the term European identity.- Promote the Erasmus + program and its possibilities in order to create sustainable quality network of cooperation.The CSJC has a strong experience in non-formal education and adult education, helping participants to express their feelings and thoughts to emerge through the use of debriefings or activities called of "experiencial learning" and suggesting participants to give their own value to their experiences.Moreover, the desired impact is to enhance the well-being through sport and health in local communities but also international and European. It is also by involving young people to develop a stronger Europe, more united and more open, creating and participating in European projects, everyone acting in the sense of respect and sharing positive values of diversity that we will create the wealth of nations.
