The name of this project is WARC- Welcome to Arts and Craft. As the name suggest, it spotlights art and craft- in other words- way to support learning and understanding traditional handicraft and envisioning it through art, for the benefit of cultural exchange and sustainability, at a cross border level, primarily with younger generations in smaller communities. Therefore, the project wishes to address a main problem of very low cross border cultural interaction, thus creating many stereotypes and misunderstanding between citizens of both countries. Other than this- the local issues of high unemployment rate and emigration from rural areas.Dividing these problems, the project wishes to contribute to secondary problems derived from it, namely: the little interaction between citizens in both countries, the low interest toward traditional handicraft, lack of central support to youth in smaller places-therefore also one of the reasons of young people leaving it. To solve these, the project targets 20 smaller, marginalized rural communities near the two leading cities –Subotica and Szeged. The project aims to create and ensure a sustainable local and cross-border cultural and educational interaction between primarily Hungarian and Serbian and other minority citizens. Throughout 12 months, the project will have the main achievements and outputs in connecting cultures and young people from both countries in a common interest of entrepreneurship initiatives and start of new businesses, by empowering, awareness and curiosity building of young people toward traditional handicrafts. Achievements: -opening event (in both cities: Subotica, Szeged)-Info days-Negotiations-creating and maintaining the web portal-carrier consultations -2 camps -'who knows what?' talent research festival -'Road show'-exhibition-short video making-closing event
