The idea behind the project is, that the European thought is being spread. This is only possible when all the nations get to know each other. There is no better way to do this, then thru the food & beverage jobs. Our students will gain strength and open each other to different cultures. Meanwhile they will learn and understand different circumstances and open themselves to accept these. They get to know a different way of apprenticeship and be able to convert this to their own schooling. There will be 10 Students from the “Berufsschule 2” in Augsburg from the area Food & Beverage. In this area we have 5 occupations: Chefs, Restaurantexperts, Hotelexperts, experts within gastronomy and experts in Hotel and restaurant industry. Most of the students are between 17 and 20 years old, they have an basic education with basic knowledge of the English language. Some of them have Italian roots. Only a few of them got from their parents support or any advancement. Almost none of them were able to do a educationally trip so far in their past. This project should give them hope and confidence to work abroad after their apprenticeship. For sure they will experience and see how great the team spirit is within the trade around the world. Most probably in November or December the students will be culturally and linguistically prepared for the exchange. The exchange is scheduled to be in March / April 2015. In their first week of visit, the students will attend classes of the Hotel management school of Castelfiorentino. The Italian teachers choose the working place, so everyone can work in his own profession. In the second week there will be some culture activities on option. Sightseeing’s are planned to places like: Pisa, Florenz, Siena, and a visit to a wine farm. The students will be chosen accordingly thru a written application. Some of the information given like the age, school performance and character, are from special meaning. The organization of the project will be done by Mr. Dreher and Mr. Hochwald. Both of them will be on site and responsible for: the planning and execution of the project, the organization of the transfers to there and back, to solve upcoming problems there, insurances and other requirements for the planed program in association with the Italian colleagues. At the Berufsschule 2 we teach about 15 different nationalities from around the world. All of the known religions are included. This is why we make sure there will be no discrimination of any kind at any time. Within the catering industry it is particularly important that people work together to ensure a smooth running operation. This is made with people from around the globe, no matter from what culture and religion they are. It is our concern to ensure equalization. Only if all nations and religions work together we will hold the key for success in our hands. After all, the guests will take the main benefits of it. At our chefs club “Augusta” all kind of nationality’s are united. Even there we look after equal treatment. Thanks
