The participants of the project will be two 4- persons gropus teachers (Job Shadowing) and one 8-person group of third-grade students of Technical High School No1 in Warsaw. The students are trained in the following occupations: IT technician and mechatronics technician. Eight-person group will be formed: 4 people- IT technician and 4 people – mechatronics students.
The students will be taking the school-leaving exam (matura) and vocational qualifications exam in a year`s time. The next year`s school graduates will then be facing shortly one of the most important challenges in their professional lives; the necessity to contrast theory with practice by putting their professional knowledge and skills into practice. Constant changes on Polish and European labour market require from young graduates considerable knowledge, experience and foreign languages skills. The school puts a lot of effort into preparing students for meeting the current job market requirements. Apart from technical knowledge and language skills, the school places particular emphasis on developing students` interpersonal skills, which will enable them to function better both in their professional life and society. The internship will create the opportunity to work for a modern, meeting European standards company, where the students will be able to practice their foreign language skills. It will also allow the students to gain substantial amount of knowledge of the latest technological solutions, communication and cooperative principles in culturally diverse environment.
The objective of the internship is to assist the vocational education students in obtaining the necessary knowledge, skills and qualifications which will increase their job perspectives on European labour market as well as allow their personal development. Additionally, the internship is to facilitate the mobility of working trainees and improve the attractiveness of vocational education.
The students` internship will take place from 14.11.2016 - 2.12.2016r. in companies the partner school in Las Palmas(I.E.S. Feria del Atlantico) cooperates with : Nincocebrian, Tirma S.A., Toyota, QwertySistemas S.A.L., Banana Computer, Hospital dr Negrin. During the internship the students will be performing duties compatible with the students learning profile: computer systems and networks, computer graphics design and mechatronics. It will result in creating a product (data basis design, website design, graphics design, e.g. company logo) or service (computer/scanner/printer repair, network configuration, software installation, mechatronic device repair, the automatic production line maintenance). The Participants of the internship will gain a valuable experience, which may turn out to be crucial when applying for a job on both European and Polish job market.
The expected results are: the students will put the knowledge they gained at school into practice, they will get acquainted with the latest technologies used in Spain, they will improve their foreign languages kills
( English and Spanish), they will obtain a Europass Mobilty certificate confirming their acquired skill, language certificate and vocational achievements certificate. The great advantage of the internship will be the opportunity to develop interpersonal and social skills, getting to know local culture and traditions in Canary Islands. The results of the internship will also include promotional materials prepared by the participants of the internship, e.g. films, internship programmes and reports which are to be archived in the school multimedia centre. The school will expand and strengthen cooperation with the partner school in Las Palmas and with FRSE, will create opportunities for teachers development through getting to know vocational system of education in Spain. What is more, the knowledge of European Union Funding Programmes will be enhanced and the school educational offer will be enriched, which will help to improve the school`s position in technical high schools rankings in the country.
