We are still alive
Start date: Aug 1, 2015, End date: Jan 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

While working with young people we found out that most of them have a negative attitude about the different cultures and subcultures. Young people have many stereotypes and disrespect for other cultures. The majority of youngsters didn’t have the chance to travel or meet people from different culture/subcultures, which create no tolerance for "different" person. By understanding all of these problems, together with the partners we decided to create this youth exchange project "We are still alive". “We are still alive” is project about an intercultural learning through the knowledge of different subcultures. 20 young people from 16 to 27 years old from Greece, Lithuania, Poland and Spain will take part in this project. Our target group is representatives of different cultures and subcultures. The project will delve deep into the cross-cultural aspects of everyday life. During the ten-day of youth exchange we discuss and experience such topics/activities as other cultures: what are the subculture, their characteristics and history; What is tolerance, respect, compromise; What are the values of each culture; What culture means personally to each culture and so on. In all projects' activities we used non-formal education methods - teamwork, reflections, simulations, experiential learning in nature (open door activities), discussion and so on. The place of exchange - Daugirdiškės homestead "Po klevu".
