Project "Whatever you want" (WAW) aims to combat “subsidy dependence” mind set within the youth communities, as well as draw attention and debate, both from policy makers and the civil society, to this issue. At the same time, this project comes from a need to provide the first opportunity for intercultural exchange in the European context to dozens of young people at particular risk of exclusion arising from a context neighborhood social and broken families.
The methodological basis of this project are the clans: informal groups where young people together with their leaders, their community and policy makers can talk frankly about the phenomenon of “subsidy dependence”
Within these clans, the young participants become apprentices and embark on a process of self-sustainability in their personal development, acquiring social and formal skills for success at the entrance to the labor market, as well as learning the skills needed to succeed in self-employment and intervention plans in their community. After the WAW exchange, the young apprentices shall have become Masters and will be able to help other young people in this training process, here designated as Family Plans, which will be disseminated the Roadmap "This is what I want" to be held in Italy, Turkey and Portugal, the countries participating in this project.
Accompanying this process is an evaluation device still providing moments of initial and final evaluation.
This exchange project directly involve 30 young people from Italy, Portugal and Turkey (including team leaders). Indirectly we will reach more than 1,000 people through the Family Plans and the Roadmap "This is what I want"...
