Water and Nature is an exchange program that involves two groups of less priveleged youth, one from Isparta inTurkey and one from Saba, an island in the Dutch Caribbean, part of the BES islands. Both regions are characterized by beautiful and specific ecological contexts. As a result for both regions it is important, to have an efficient system for water management as well as a nature preservation strategy. The exchange will be about sharing ideas, comparing strategies, involving local residents and increasing awareness. The exchange activities are centred around the theme water and nature and aim to: 1. broaden the horizon of the participants; 2. increase their intercultural awareness. 3. stimulate them to develop compentencies related to being pro-active and organizing activities. Exchange activities take place in two countries (Turkey and the Dutch Caribbean) and are developed and for an important part organized by the receiving participants. The exchange and the preparational activities, take place outside school hours. Participation is voluntarily. Participants from both countries, face difficulties on various levels. All participants face difficulties in at least 2 of the following areas: cultural obstacles, disabilities, economical obstacles, educational difficulties, geographical obstacles. Experiences and learning objectives that are reached, are formalized and visualized by the Youth Pass, a formal approved Certificate of Participation. It will be handed out to all participants. In this project, the partners will work together for the first time in this partner network. Partners: Lava Legato and Mustafa Kacikoc Anadolu Lisesi have worked together in the past with satisfying results. The aim with this partnership is to establish long term relationships so that exchanges can be organized on a yearly basis.
