The project results from the needs of our organization to develop the language and methodology competence of the teachers, especially in the English language as a language of international communication and so we want to strengthen the position of our school as an appropriate partner in the field of international projects of cooperation in technical sphere. We would like to develop our teachers' abilities and skills in English conversation, their technical vocabulary and to give them chance to acquire new knowledge in methodology, particularly in CLIL methodology and methodology for teaching students with special needs through the properly chosen courses.
The aim of the project is primarily the introduction and extension CLIL lessons in teaching key subjects at our school. Alongside we would also like to increase our students' motivation for studying foreign languages and their participation in international projects, to strengthen their confidence in communication with foreign partners. We want to pay special attention to the students with special needs to help them to be equal to other students in their knowledge.
The set aims meet Erasmus+ aims; Erasmus+ wants to increase the quality and adequacy of qualifications and skills, to extend international dimension of education and technical preparation and supports cooperation among institutions in partner countries.
In all we are planning 6 twelve-day English courses for 6 teachers in Great Britain, Ireland and Malta between August 2015 and August 2016.
A description of the participants:
- 3 English teachers - master degree in English at university, 10 and more years of teaching practice at secondary school, English
level C1/C2 (CEFR), successful coordinators and participants Comenius and Erasmus+ projects, students' excursions to GB, using
components of CLIL methodology in lessons.
- 2 maths teachers - English level B1/B2 (CEFR), using components of CLIL methodology in lessons.
- 1 ICT teacher - English level B2 (CEFR), using components of CLIL methodology in lessons.
A description of the activities:
1. A 12-day language teaching methodology course, Great Britain (August 2015)
2. A 12-day course for teachers of English to pupils with special needs, Great Britain. (spring 2016)
3. A 12-day CLIL methodology course, Malta. (July - August 2016)
4. A 12-day CLIL methodology course, Ireland. (July - August 2016)
5. A 12-day CLIL methodology course, Great Britain - twice. (July - August 2016)
Realization of the project:
1. Choosing eligible courses from the Internet database. (February - July 2015)
2. Arranging a chosen course for 2015 including accommodation, meals, transport and insurance with the help of the organization
Languages Abroad. (summer 2015)
3. A 12-day language teaching methodology course, Great Britain. (August 2015)
4. Preparatory courses of English for maths and ICT teachers provided by an English teacher from the school. (Sept. 2015- June 2016)
5. Arranging chosen courses for 2016 including accommodation, meals, transport and insurance with the help of the organization
Languages Abroad. (winter 2015 - spring 2016)
6. Next 5 participants one by one are going to attend 5 twelve-day courses abroad in agreement with the aims of the project.

Expected results and impact of the project is a quality improvement of English teaching from European point of view. It means using gained knowledge for extension current CLIL lessons and implementing CLIL methodology into teaching other subjects, helping students with special needs and refreshing English teaching with new thing from modern methodology, but also understanding English teaching in its European frame as a tool for developing international communication and cooperation of our school with other schools within EU. All of that may be considered to be a possible long-term contribution of the project.
