FINISHED
The Leo-von-Klenze-Schule is a vocational business school with approximately 90 staff members and 2,100 apprentices attending school once or twice per week. We set up the mobility project in cooperation with our partner organization EEC-ITIS Malta Tourism and Languages Institute (a language school and school for tourism with about 30 teachers and administration secretaries). By taking part in the project 50 apprentices (2 x 25 students) have the chance of gaining 3 weeks of international experience on Malta during their apprenticeship. Every student in the 10th and 11th grade is allowed and explicitely encouraged to apply for a participation in the project. They can do that by submitting the europass language passport, the europass CV and a letter of motivation. Our students do an apprenticeship as office clerks, assistant tax advisers, management assistant in IT-systems, industrial clerks and retail assistants, among others. We agreed on several quality targets we want to achieve at our school. The targets the mobility project aims at are for example: "Our students have international competencies" as well as "We forster the personality of our students". Therefore, the project titel is "Preparation for the internationalisation and Europeanisation of the work environment - comparison of the working conditions in Europe". After five perparational seminars in Germany our students join a business English course on Malta. Afterwards they do an internship with Maltese companies for 2 weeks. They are accomodated in host families for the time of their stay.It is our aim to raise the students' awareness for the different working conditions and daily routines in other European countries and to expand their language skills at the same time. Furthermore, they should widen their intercultural compentencies and their ability and openness to adapt themselves to foreign circumstances. After their stay abroad the participants (students AND teachers) act as multiplicators for the other apprenctices at our school, for the school staff and for the companies they train in. On the long run we aim for a much more international orientation at our school. The students are accompanied by 2 teachers or trainers respectively during their stay on Malta. They act as supervisors for the underaged but also as contact persons each student can contact any time. They additionally do the on site monitoring and the evaluation in cooperation with the partner school and the local companies. The Erasmus+-Team was recently newly assembled with experienced and unexperienced teachers of different departments. By that we would like to achieve another quality target: "We cooperate among different departments" in order to improve the quality of our tuition and also of our project management. By that the ideal dissemination of the project and the students' results is also guaranteed. Our partner organisation EEC-ITIS Malts Tourism and Languages Institute will also use the results in their lessons. In the closing ceremony at Leo-von-Klenze vocational school in Ingolstadt to which relatives, representatives of the companies and the Chambers of Commerce as well as the press are invited, the students present their detailed results and the Europass is handed over to the participants solemnly.
