Volunteers on Carnival
Start date: Feb 10, 2013,

Culture and Art are among the most important and primary factors that define people as social beings. Thus, meeting new cultures and learning about them is the most successful way to combat discrimination, xenophobia and social exclusion – the fight we‘re trying to get. Young people, by being brought into contact with other cultures, can learn a lot from each other - they can discover and explore similarities and differences between their cultures and realize that differences are not something what we should be afraid of, but something that can enrich our lives. Young people from Montenegro, FYR Macedonia, Italy and Slovenia are going to become aware of this since they are going to spend their time together for twelve days in Herceg-Novi, during multilateral youth exchange "Volunteers on carnival", hosted by “Youth centre Herceg-Novi”. 24 participants gathered in Bijela, will spend their time among children without parental care, promoting voluntary work and values in the best possible manner, preparing children for the event of the Year - international youth Carnival, showing how children with less privileged cultural and socioeconomic background can become a valid parta of local community. Interactive lectures and workshops, group working and discussions, practical work, excursions and leisure activities are going to link them together.
