"Volunteers INC - Inclusive, Not Conclusive" is a long EVS project that will host 2 volunteers for 11 months in Zagreb, Croatia. The project is implemented by Volunteers’ Centre Zagreb as coordinating organisation, Centre for rehabilitation Zagreb as receiving organization, and Grenzenlos - interkultureller Austausch (Austria) and Zavod Voluntariat (Slovenia), as sending organizations. The project is a continuation of a cooperation on long term EVS project "Living Together" that was implemented in 2015 and in which 3 out of 4 current partner organisations participated. Through inclusion, respecting differences and diversity, intercultural understanding and community building, the project aims to promote inclusive volunteering and make people aware of the importance of active citizenship in our society. The project is focused to adding quality to life of people with intellectual disabilities with 2 objectives:(1) to organise activities that will introduce more diversity and offer learning, skill developing and creative expression opportunities(2) to support people with intellectual disabilities in their daily routines, leisure and promote inclusion in local communityThe main activities of the project are: - Organisation activities to increase life quality of individuals with intellectual disabilities,- Promoting inclusion through involving people with intellectual disabilities in life of local community,- Assisting individuals with intellectual disabilities with their daily routine and free time,- Croatian language and culture lessons,- Education and trainings for volunteers about work with individuals with intellectual disabilities,- Volunteers' personal project.We expect that benefits to the participating volunteers will include: attained new knowledge, skills and attitudes in the framework of non-formal education and peer learning, increased self-empowerment and self-esteem, increased understanding and responsiveness to social, linguistic and cultural diversity, enhanced employability and improved career prospects, increased sense of initiative and more active participation in society, enhanced intercultural awareness, improved foreign language competences, increased motivation for taking part in future mobilities and spending periods abroad.Benefits to target group will include: attained new knowledge and skills, improved life quality, greater independence, increased social interaction with local community, increased empowerment, improved verbal communication, attained new intercultural competences.This project will give volunteers an opportunity to learn and work in a diverse and challenging environment, get to know thechallenges of Croatian reality and aid in the enhancement of solidarity in our society, particularly among vulnerable groups.Desire of all sides participating in this project is to make a change in communicating with/about people with intellectual disabilities.All methodologies used will promote active participation, learning by doing, non-formal and informal education.
