Volunteers for Cultural Heritage
Start date: Nov 1, 2007,

Whilst cultural heritage is a strategic priority in many European countries, the conservation and promotion of cultural assets often requires more resources than the public sector alone is able to provide. Considering the vital role played by volunteers in protecting and maintaining monuments, sites, and objects of cultural and historical value, the VOCH project focused upon skills development for all such volunteers and the often-specialised training that must be provided. Following an initial research phase, during which good or interesting practice was identified, partners worked together on the design, development and delivery of a series of short training modules for both volunteers and volunteer-coordinators. Key outputs for the project included the VOCH Research Report alongside guidelines and training outlines for use when working with cultural heritage volunteers.
