"Volunteerism in Sarıyer" Project which reflects the spirit of European Voluntary Service Programme gives an opportunity for two volunteers coming from non-governmental organizations of France Itinéraire International PACA and Portugal OQCC to perform long-term EVS in our organization. The aim of the project is to extend municipality’s fields of study related youth and child rights through voluntary contribution and to move those studies onto the European level by making use of different perspectives and cultural wealth. On the other hand, volunteers will improve themselves and their employability will increase through the opportunities provided and activities they will take part in, and their entrance into the labor market will become easier. The project establishes an intercultural dialogue and helps to develop volunteering awareness in Sarıyer by hosting volunteers coming from Europe. In addition to this, mutual understanding between teenagers will become strongers via volunteers coming together with local teenagers for collaborative works. Volunteers will support studies together with the organization’s experienced personnel by participating activities related to youth and child rights that will be held in schools and Sarıyer Municipality Youth Training Centers during their EVS. Volunteers will understand the importance of making contribution to local. Development of the collaboration at European level and voluntary contribution to civil society is one of the project’s important outcomes.
