Volunteering at Yerevan State Linguistic University after V. Brusov
Start date: Aug 1, 2014, End date: Aug 1, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Venue: Yerevan, Armenia | Activity Dates: 1st of October 2014 - 30th of June 2015 (Duration 9 months) The voluntary services took place within Yerevan State Linguistic University. The activities focused mainly on assisting students and professors during the education process in a non-formal way. The main activities of volunteers were concentrated on a non-formal educational process and the active participation of the volunteer Andrea Pessl was fundamental for the project implementation. Working and communicating with young people from Armenia allowed the volunteers to discover their mentality and to share European culture and values. It provided an opportunity to both, the volunteer and young Armenians, to increase their self-consciousness and stimulate their reflection about the differences in culture and values. Volunteers were involved in organizing cultural events, helped to develop cooperation with international partners of the University and created new networks. These activities stimulated their creativity. Whereas the development of the economy cannot do without a communicative dimension, we believe that this project contributed to entrepreneurial training of volunteers in their future activities. The project was part of the MELANGE program, the EVS programme in Vienna strongly supported by the city of Vienna/wienXtra where Grenzenlos set up networks for volunteers and international partners and host partners and volunteers receive special support before during and after their EVS.
