Volunteering and education through sport

The project "Volunteering and Education through Sport" gives the opportunity for 3 young people from UK, Brazil and France to be EVS volunteers in the office of International Sport and Culture Association (ISCA), based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The main themes dealt with are "Education through Sport" and "Health", and the objectives addressed are "promoting young people's active citizenship in general and their European citizenship in particular", "developing solidarity and promoting tolerance among young people, in particular in order to foster social cohesian in the European Union, "fostering mutual understanding between young people in different countries" and "promoting European cooperation in the youth field". This project is an expression of ISCA's commitment to create bridges between people, countries, cultures and even continents.The methods are specific to non-formal education and the activities of the project are focusing on youth, culture and sport work within the setting of an international NGO. Specifically, activities center around * youth networking opportunities; * international non-formal training events; and * thematic work in the ISCA portfolio, including sport and environment, sport and health as well as sport and inclusion.
