The project Voluntarily with the library will take place in the North Bohemian Research Library in Usti nad Labem in the Czech Republic. Motivation for realization of this project is on the one hand an effort to bring something new to our daily routine and widen services for the public and on the other hand it is possibility to help young volunteer to develop some of her skills and knowledge and to get practice in field of her interest. Project follows our two previous EVS projects realized in the library and it is focused mainly to culture differences, communication and creativity. Activities included in the project will lead to intercultural dialogue, cultural awareness and to comprehension of importance of mutual understanding and necessity of tolerance. Volunteer will take part in common librarian activities in different departments of the library (e.g. lending and returning books, contact with readers, processing of new documents), in some activities and workshops for public and together with Czech volunteers will organize meetings of English Club. She will have an opportunity to present her home country and its culture, to realize an exhibition connected with chosen topic and she will have a chance for her own iniciatives too. The project will also reflect the interests and experience of volunteer from area of education and work with children. In addition to development of creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, volunteer will have possibility to improve her competences from the field of information and computer literacy and deepen her communication and language skills. The goal of the project is to increase the creativity during some of the common librarian activities incuding activities for public, improvement of communication with foreigners and development of tolerance and understanding. We expect, that project will also lead to widen the portfolio of activities for library's users and local community and in its consequences also to widen the net of people who are actively interested in issues and events connected with the library.
