The main aim of this EVS project is to bring together and give positive cooperation experience to young people coming from different cultural and social backgrounds. Volunteer from Latvia will work 12 months in Skopje, Macedonia, and cooperate with local volunteers and more experienced international volunteers in the creation of magazine for young people from Skopje in Macedonian, Albanian and English languages called VOICES and upon their interests and knowledge volunteers can work with children and youngsters with fewer opportunities (street children, children without parental care, children and youngsters from ethnical groups facing discrimination and social exclusion and youngsters from rural and border areas) and plan and organize workshops that aim to develop artistic and creative skills or foreign language knowledge. The thematical concept and aim of the magazine is to turn attention of young people to social and environmental topics that receives poor coverage in mainstream media and to promote local and international volunteerism and non-formal education programs. Volunteer will be involved in the all tasks of magazine publishing. She will do researches on actualities, issues and informative needs of young people in Skopje, write news articles, features and interviews, take pictures, make the design of the magazine and distribute it in the universities, libraries, cafes and in other NGOs. In later stages of project volunteer in the cooperation with organization staff will be responsible also for creating and leading workshops to local students about media role in the society, about journalism, photography and design.
