Vocational qualification in the non profit marketing
The third sector is recognised as an important resource of the society at large. For the most part, the not-for-profit entities rely on voluntary effort as they seek to improve the lives of disadvantaged citizens, fight social injustice, prevent marginalization and advance active citizenship. Working on the grassroots level the associations foster community spirit, enhance the sense of belonging and strengthen citizens’ commitment to their societies. The existence of non-profit associations depends upon the recruitment of new members, fundraising as well as upon its visibility in the society which requires an adequate planning of non-profit marketing strategies. In a crowded market of ideas, it is important for non-profit organizations to underline their essensce, because most non-profits are not selling products, they are selling their organization's mission, their ideas, their programs, and their services. In a world where everyone is inundated with information, a strong image is the key to community awareness. Developing and maintaining a visible and credible identity through marketing will increase their reputation. To improve their skills in this field, the volunteers need to be properly trained, and in this concern, it is not just the volunteers who need training, but those who lead the voluntary efforts, the executives and staff members of the non-profit organisations. The non-profit organisations rarely have the needed funds to organise sophisticated training for their staff. From this background the aim of the project is to develop a training course in the field of non-profit marketing and educate leader and members of non-profit and non-governmental organisation about how to make such organisations attractive for new members, donors and social partners.
