Vivre ensemble sa citoyenneté : Interaction professionnelle, sociale et culturelle entre des citoyens européens.
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jun 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Given that this is our first experience in the context of European mobility, our project consists of an exchange of places of internship for the seven learners participating in the project. Our school falls under the “Ecole Collège Lycée Ambition Innovation Réussite“ (ÉCLAIR) programme. In the majority of cases, these learners have academic and economic difficulties as well as problems relating to integration in the education community. The project therefore aims at providing them with mobility opportunities in the form of internships. It is consequently hoped that these internships will help improve their academic performance and integration in the school. The project equally aims at instilling a sense of awareness of their European citizenship and enriching their culture on both personal and professional level. Therefore in order to reach the objectives, the vocational subjects teachers will ensure, as part of prior preparation, consolidation of theoretical knowledge and practice for the learners’ future successful immersion in the spanish professional world. In this way, not only will they be in a better position to compare their initial experiences with the new ones, but will also enrich their professional and cultural knowledge. Moreover, in order to meet their language deficiency needs,we have set up a Spanish language club whose aims and objectives evolve around oral communication improvement, to be achieved through a variety of activities. It is hoped that this club will sufficiently prepare the learners for ease communication with their different Spanish speakers. Our project follows a long and well thought preparation. First, we put together a working file for the project in three languages, French, English and Spanish. We also divide tasks among ourselves according to an agenda and a calendar pre-established in collaboration with our Spanish partners. The calendar serves as a roadmap for the diverse tasks to accomplish – planning of work meetings and reservation of our participation in various meetings and conferences. We mainly communicate by telephone and emails with our network of partners : organizations and individual people. We regularly communicate through the internet to share pedagogical tools. Our meetings in France and Spain are meant for the preparation of the learners’ professional training period. The learners will also be encouraged to exchange data on specific themes in their professional fields to appear in a pamphlet in French and Spanish. We therefore hope that this first work experience in the European Union will enhance their professional efficiency through the acquisition of a greater autonomy, more positive school assessments, as well as in developing the ability to communicate in another European language. We are convinced that a growing number of learners will be willing to join in the project. In the long term, we expect a change of perspective for the learners' future, which will include professional added-value, confidence and employability and better social and professional integration across Europe. Learners will subsequently acquire the necessary skills to respond to job offers in the European Union thanks to the Europass booklet. Additionally, we think that the number of professional subject teachers willing to join in the project, will be increasing. We believe that mobility will strengthen our Spanish partnership in particular as our partners' field of action will be even more extended. This new French partner will bring them an added-value asfar as their European influence is concerned. Through this project, we also wish to improve the image of the school and spur the opening of a European class, which we hope will contribute towards rendering the school more attractive both locally and regionally. Finally, we hope this project will build a network of partner companies leading to a European rooted school.
