Visual Arts Network - Goldenagers OverGoing Horizons. Artistic education for adult learners
The project assumed building a partnership among cultural centres from Poland, Lithuania and Hungary. The goal of the project was an exchange of experiences in the field of artistic education for adults. The recipients of the project were amateur painters, participants of painting workshops held in our institutions. Most of them are senior citizens from local communities with the addition of adult participants. The second type of the recipients were art instructors, staff members of cultural centres. By project duration we organized three international painting plein airs – in each partner country. These mobilities were based on active participation of seniors and adult students. Also Internet and e-mail workshops in each partner country for learners and an English language course for learners and staff was organized between Partners Meeting. These activities enabled participants of the project to take part in preparation of a website – internet gallery (one of the project’s results)– where we presented works painted during the plein airs. We held workshops for the development of communicational skills of all participants of the project. Those took place druing and after the international meetings – among others using the internet gallery or sending e-mails. The communication skills were used to build the partnership not only among institutions but first of all among people – all project’s recipients.By this project we gave opprtunity to make an attempt for participants to break cultural and language barriers. Another benefit for them were gaining the skills of cooperation in international teams and grew of knowledge about the variety of European culture. The effects of the 2 year artistic activities was displayed during a final exhibition in warsavian Zadra Gallery. An exhibition’s catalogue was one of the partnership‘s results. Catalouge contains best paintings of participants of 3 international plein airs with their authors and their reflections about work
