Context In Europe acts of racism have increased . Frequently the protagonists of these acts are young people. In some schools, common behaviors are acts of bullying against foreigners, gays, disables. In particular the project is addressed to young people (minors) already in situation of economic hardship, social and / or family deprivations. Objectives We face the problem of discrimination through artistic expression that will be directly implemented by minors. They decontextualize themselves and can focus on every act of discrimination, prejudice and ignorance connected. The achievement of this goal is the opportunity to learn about themselves and the "others" that only a mobility project may allow. The journey is as a metaphor for knowledge but it’s also as a practical opportunity to "overwrite" pre-judgments. Methodologies used The project will realize: 1st) mobility of youth workers and training (Spain-Italy) 2nd) Youth Exchange (spain - italy) and trainig. In this case the youth workers are teachers of young people The project uses informal experiential learning methodologies. The art will be the communication chanal to dissemination the no racisme message. Profile and number of participants Mobility of young workers: 3 Spanish + 3 Italians Youth Exchange : Young people aged between 13 and 17 years, Italians and Spanish, in conditions of economic hardship, social and / or family deprivations. 16 young Italians (out of 8 males and 8 females) and 16 young Spanish (out of 8 males and 8 females) will be selected. Description of activities Action 1: Project Management The activities will be: the communication with the European Commission, the detailed definition of the calendar of activities, the activation of a project manager for: the management, the collaboration agreements, the contracts, the insurance, the logistical and the linguistic support during travel activities, the internal communications. In this action will take place a first monitoring and reporting. Action 2 Mobility of young workers : 3 Spanish workers go to Italy. Traning group (3 Spanish and 3 Italian workers). Training about: racism and Europe condition, art and non-formal learning. Action 3 Mobility of young workers : 3 Italian workers go to Spain. Training group (3 Spanish and 3 Italian workers). Training about: designing educational activity for Youth exchange Action 4 - Youth exchange Meetings on the topic of knowledge Moving of 16 young Italians to Spain for 7 days. In this meeting the theme of discrimination will be addressed by means of non-formal education The main activities: They choose an event linked to injury and they act it through game theatral The activity about the knowledge of self and the others Meetings for the recognition of their behavioral characteristics (positive and negative) Action 5 - Youth Exchange - Meetings on the topic of the report: Moving of 16 young Spanish in Italy for 10 days. In this meeting the theme of the integration of the "different" will be addressed by means of non-formal education The main activities: - manual activities in mixed groups. These activities will have to help to overcome the diversity recognized - an artistic product to promote the value of integration Results Children start to evolve a critical and alternative capacity about the prejudices, they know the issue of discrimination in a manner decontextualized and they begin to use behavior and relationship patterns antagonistic to violence production of a no-racism message video 30.000 students watch the video in 60 schools (Spain and Italy) 100.000 views on Youtube 4 articles in the local newspaper exchange of know-how with 2 European organizations (Romania and Albania) Impact Decrease of violence acts done by the participants. In the dissemination action, the project will contact at least 100 young people in Italy and Spain Long-term benefits The children become carriers of change in their social context: the abandonment of violent behavior and a decrease of the events of youth delinquency in Country they live in.
