The Non-profit-Organisation Die Kärntner Volkshochschulen is increasingly asked to put innovative formats and courses in the field of adult education into action in order to provide learners the access to life long learning and high quality adult education. The challenge of a growing organisation, that sees itself as a service center in adult education, that wants to use the potential of the region and has the need to find new methods and tools, is to compare adult education all over Europe. The result is that not just with regard to contents, but also on an organisational level professionalization can take place. It can be expected, that the already initiated modernisation-process will proceed and europe-wide cooperations in various areas will lead to further optimizations within the Volkshochschulen. The aim is to get externa know-how into and to develop the organisation as well as staff along its needs and requirements. The project should open new possibilites to get an overview of actions and approaches, that are put into practice all around Europe and to get stimuli for our own implementations. Summing up it can be stipulated, that the project provides a valuable contribution to the organisation´s attracitvity and internationalization as an adult education provider. The collected ideas and insight should also be used to promote them among stakeholders in order to improve and adapt the existing courses and measures to trends in adult education.
