The project will contribute for increasing the ship traffic along the Danube River.Objectives:Following goals should be achieved through the project's implementation:• Established system for monitoring and information services of vessel traffic;• Improving the business conditions in the maritime sector;• Improved capacity for crisis prevention;• Improved maritime search and rescue operations;• Environmental protection of the Black Sea and the Bulgarian coastal regions.Main activities implemented under the project:• Design and construction of buildings on coastal management centres and information services to shipping in Burgas and Varna;• Construction of new and modernization of existing unmanaged radiocommunication stations which are installed remote controlled sensors / radars, video cameras, meteostations / base stations of the automatic identification system, transmitting, receiving stations and other ancillary equipment;• Upgrading and expansion of integrated infrastructure of microwave, optical or cable line that connects the radio communication stations located along the Black Sea coast (Dobrich, Varna and Bourgas region ) with coastal management centers in Burgas and Varna;• Installation of computing complex hardware and software in the buildings of coastal stations for traffic management for the realization of the designed functionality of the system;• Technological upgrade of the national part of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS);• Establishment of a National Centre of electronic data interchange in maritime transport (NCEDIMT).
