The non-profit association ScienceCenter-Network serves as the Austrian hub for interactive science communication. Its focus is research, training, dissemination and documentation of science center activities in order to analyze the potential of these activities and support their Austrian-wide usage. To foster continuous professionalisation and provide impulses into the network as well as to the educational and innovation system through trainings and events, the staff of the association needs current knowledge on research, practical applications and didactics in its field. This is granted by the international mobilities in form of conferences and study visits to renowned organisations. These will not only provide direct access and insight and allow the assessment of developments, but also motivate participants to implement successful approaches in their own work in Austria.For the project spanning July 2016 - June 2017, staff members active in projects and training will engage in 7 mobilities on 3 focus areas: Teaching/training on hands-on science communication, research and evaluation competences and mediation of tinkering activities / industry 4.0. All three topics have an immediate connection to current projects and teaching/training activities inside the institution as well as relevancy for the Austrian-wide network. The mobilities include participation in structured conferences as well as 2-3 days study visits, where hosts provide insights into their work and behind the scenes. All hosts are interested in the know-how of the participants from the association ScienceCenter-Network.Intended outcomes are the professionalisation of staff, transfer of learning outcomes within the (extended) team of the association as well as implementation in all activities and teaching/training measures. Moreover, insights will also be shared within the Austrian-wide ScienceCenter-Network of 165 partners as well as through a number of other multipliers through the teaching/trainings. Additionally, the intense international contacts will serve an increased international reputation and strengthen the profile - a good basis for long-term cooperation with international partners.
