The elementary school Europe Nations in Vandoeuvre-les- Nancy ( France ) is a school of application. His trainers teachers participate in the initial training of primary school teachers . Its numbers have 330 students from 6 to 12 years , divided into 15 classes . It is part of the priority education from the social and cultural background of their students.
This project's main improvement of student achievement in English goal . To achieve this, teachers want to create a new dynamic and effective in teaching English. It will build on the linguistic, pedagogical and didactic skills of the three participating teachers erasmus + . From three different levels of classes , they will return to enrich the teaching of English at all levels of the school for the contents , methods and actions .
The profiles of the three participants have in common: they are all three trainers. Mission and experience to facilitate the transmission of acquired back from the erasmus + training , they are all motivated by three teaching English and are already investing a portion of their time to personal training for this discipline.
The three participants have complementary differences. From three different professional and academic backgrounds , they have lower levels of mastery of English different . This diversity allows them to define appropriate approaches to promote the success of all students in English. The full range of English teaching will be enriched : the language field , the cultural field , spontaneous conversation non-linguistic disciplines and writing.
Acquired their training Erasmus + allow them to define the basic skills to work in the area of language : vocabulary, language structures and syntax. They allow them to rely on authentic documents to present cultural aspects and a level of English to lead enriched , English, other disciplines such as elementary school physical education , science, singing and visual arts.
The teaching of English will be valued and appear in all project activities of the school. This project will be carried out throughout the year according to a precise timetable : an opening day ( European day ) and one week of closure ( European week) will constitute the framework . Language workshops will be offered to students on a weekly basis with the aim of improving their language skills , but also the awareness of their European citizenship . Radio school will reflect learning done in the classroom through recording texts, songs and dialogues. Exhibitions, opening time to the family, will highlight the cultural knowledge acquired by students . The mastery of oral French language , the main component of the proposed school will benefit from this new approach to teaching English based on a mastery of a simple vocabulary and situations of real communication. Through the teaching of English , students will make a transfer in their original language and in French oral language. The opening of school will be facilitated by this project and will use digital tools to disseminate and make known the significance of the project to all stakeholders . Participants through innovative practices they will offer their colleagues will support a real student progress points. The school intends , through this project , to reach a level A1 for 90% of its students at the end of their primary education.
As part of their interventions trainers, the Superior of the Teaching and Education and School Inspectorate of Education Vandoeuvre , they will value the achievements of this training erasmus + animating courses on the theme of teaching foreign languages for teachers in schools.
