Improving foreign language teacher's professionalism with the help of teacher training courses abroad The mentioned teacher training courses in the United Kingdom and Spain aim to improve the professionalism of the delegated foreign language teachers (two in total, one for English and one for Spanish, two of the modern languages that are taught at our school) with respect to the following aspects: Language competence, competence in teaching methods and intercultural competence. The outcomes of this course are expected to be a modern and inspiring foreign language classroom discourse using authentic language, adequate error correction and innovative teaching methods and media. This new insight into foreign language teaching is also going to be made available to other teachers at our school, thus contributing to our school development. In addition, these teacher training courses will provide opportunities for intercultural discussion with teachers from other countries and cultural backgrounds. Additionally, it will provide the opportunity to find prospective partners for language projects.
