We plan to improve the professionalim of our English lessons by introducing modern and highly motivating methods of teaching, making use of the excellent technical facilities of our school and putting English lessons in a European context. The educational and pedagogical exchange of ideas with other teachers from Europe will broaden our horizon and enrich our English lessons. Possibly, the vocational training in Brighton will entail mutual visits in order to experience school life and routine in other European countries. Furthermore we would like to enable our pupils to cooperate with peers in other European countries by using e-twinning. This will provide a welcome opportunity to use English as a real means of communication in contrast to the simulated situations in regular English lessons. Thus our pupils will be prepared for an increasingly globalised world of work. Cooperating in a common project with the French department means employing another European language in addition, which underlines the international character of the project. We plan to cooperate with other faculties at our school as well as other schools. By networking with English faculties of other schools as well as the faculties of all modern foreign languages at our school, we plan to establish a long-term exchange about the possibilities of implementing the contents of the vocational training in Brighton. The language departments of our schools will be strenghtened by a regional and European network.
