The aim on the project is to increase the competence of environmental education workers and the quality of the programs that they can offer the community, thereby improving the quality of environmental education and citizens awareness of sustainable lifestyles in Estonia. Over the last years the methods of active learing have become popular in environmental education and Nordic countries have a long term experience using these methods. The purpose of the project is to send four young workers of NGO Nõmme Naturehouse to the training courses held in Iceland. In the beginning existing knowledge as well as weak points of the NGO Nõmme Naturehouse workers will be mapped. After that the workers will participate in 3 different courses in Iceland which will provide them with innovative methods that they can later adapt in their work. During the project follow-up actions, the project participants will share the new methods and their experience abroad with other environmental educators and teachers as well as compose new programs and projects based on the new innovative methods learned, in order to increase quality of environmental education, to attract a wider audience and to increase environmental awarness.
