It is very important for primary schools of Ylivieska to follow the development of teaching methods. Through her own experiences the teacher passes on to her students the knowledge and the thrills of European culture in all its diversity. As our language skills improve while visiting the target countries, we can create and keep up new international relationships.The new curriculum sets new challenges to teaching, such as functional learning in different school subjects and studying English at the second grade. School visits give us new ideas for developeing our teaching and extra motivation to our work. Personal experiences of school culture in other countries enrich the teachers´ teaching skills. There are three primary schools from the center of Ylivieska in our project. We are two English teachers, three primary school teachers and the head of local education and culture department. By participating in language and culture courses we wish to improve our English and hope to get cultural experiences that will enrich our teaching of different school subjects. School visits will give us information about schools in other countries. This will help us develop our work. The project will give us new tools to keep up in the progress of renovating our learning culture. By observating the local education organisation of the target country our head of local education and culture department wishes to get new ideas for building up a productive change in administration.Our theme is "New winds to primary school education". We hope this project will bring a wind of change to the primary schools of Ylivieska.
