The Youth Exchange ‘Using Social Media’ will gather together 30 young people form EU countries – UK, Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Turkey and Spain. During 9 days, they will explore different media platforms and discuss how to use social media to create opportunities for career progress. The vast majority of the participants will be young people with fewer opportunities, who face economical and geographical obstacles. The programme is designed in accordance with objectives and the identified needs of participants, based on non-formal educational principles and is divided into 5 areas: - introductions and group building. The group/team building exercise will be include in the programme regularly as this is important point for this activity. -development knowledge in social media. - exploring opportunities to increase chance of finding a job or make career progress - development of individual strategies and planning of participants’ follow-up of the YE - follow-up, evaluation ( during and after the activity stage) and dissemination results. The project is an international cooperation between partner organisations, and all groups will be equally responsible for the all stages of the project. Young people will be actively involved in preparation of activities as well as decision making as they will finally decide what activity their group will be doing and best methods to implement. The project will have impact on personal, socio-educational and professional development of the participants. They will gain essential transversal skills such as digital and linguistic skills in English. The participants will be more familiar with social media, and will feel more confident to use different media platforms to create their own accounts, blog or interactive CV. The partner organisations involved will reinforce their international cooperation and build positive working relationship that, in turn, will create a platform for future projects. The project will add additional value to the projects previously implemented by the partner organisations in the field of unemployment. The objectives of the projects are: - improve the level of key competences and skills of young people in social media area - increase young people awareness how to use social media platforms for career progress or self-employment - develop basic digital skills to be used for creating a positive internet presence - increase awareness of different social media platforms, difference between them and discover a potential to use each of these platforms - increase sense of initiative and entrepreneurship -improve the level of key competences of youth workers involved - enhance intercultural awareness and skills of the participants to work in multicultural groups - for the organisations involved: to increase international dimension of youth activities and build positive partnership relationships. Overall aim of the project is to equip the participants with skills and knowledge that will increase their employability and help them to progress in their career.
