PROJECT
FINISHED
The aim of the project European Mobility for Young Cook is giving to ISTITUTO DI ISTRUZIONE SUPERIORE FEDERICOALBERT the opportunity for their students to improve their individual and professional skills. Students do not need only to acquire practical knowledge or simple concepts but they need also to improve their planning and autonomy attitudes. European Mobility for Young Cooks is their chance to live an international training experience in the sector of catering (in hotels and restaurants) in Portugal and the United Kingdom. Learning new techniques of preparation and making new dishes will be the starting point to create original contaminations and flavors as soon as they come back to Italy. The project will last 24 months. Two groups of students will be staying in Santarem (Portugal) for seven weeks and other two couples will be attending their apprenticeship in Portsmouth (four weeks). In the first days of their stay abroad, the partner organizations (Escola Profissional do Vale do Tejo and the training agency Training Vision) introduce them the host cities and the premises where the young people will learn, use, couple and serve the typical/most used products of the two areas. There they will prepare local menus, traditional, ethnic and international recipes, working in multinational, English speaking brigades. During the first week of their activities, according to the length of the training and the students’ knowledge of the language, they could be provided with written instructions of the recipes preparations and information concerning the characteristics of the products they will use. A practical demonstration will be useful to help the students’ autonomy and self-estimation. The partner organizations will plan the welcoming activities and the training ones, controlling and validating the foreign experience ( a Europass Mobility Certificate will be provided). It will develop the students’ entrepreneurship, the knowledge of European values and languages, offering them good opportunities to go to work abroad after their school experience.
