The project aims to create: 1) a multi-lingual glossary, covering the basic standard situations and emergencies, an absolute must for the railway employees directly involved in operating and coordinating international trains in Europe; 2) a diagnostic tool, European Language Portfolio (ELP), to assess language competencies of an employee/trainee; with the help of this tool, the trainee will be able to find out if he/she corresponds to a certain proficiency level; and 3) an outline of the training module for teaching the basics of professional English to railway employees.
