It is he main aim for the Coastal Guard to be able to respond to increasing requirements on issues relating to the protection of the sea environment, to improve air policing and surveillance of the sea, to conduct search and rescue operations and to improve the safety of navigation. Expected Results: It is necessary to procure 2 (two) multiple-role helicopters which will be able to patrol and operate in the sea area of Greece-Cyprus responsibility (Crete, Samos, Rhodes, Kastellorizo, Cyprus zone) under adverse weather conditions either autonomously as a unit or in conjunction with other operational means of the Coastal Guard.
