Urban and Regional Identity in a new European Context
Start date: Aug 1, 2016, End date: Mar 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project "Regional and urban identities in a European context" is a project held under Erasmus+ programme, prepared and carried out by 4 groups of young people from 4 different countries - Czech Republic, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hungary. It is designed for 40 young persons (from 15 to 30 years old), 10 from each participating country. Participants are already active volunteers in the field of intercultural learning who wish to reinforce and share their skills with others as well as learn and obtain new knowledge and skills.Together we want to focus on the topic of culture, identity and European cultural unity. Through practical workshops, lectures from external experts, disccusions, cooperation with local cities and people, fun etc. We want to develop a positive and motivating platform to talk about what culture and identity in Europe and its regions mean. Many activities will be accessible for public, some will be designed for public, such as the international dinner. On these we can show people the connection between our real event, how others and foreigners perceive it. With these and our experience we also want to empower awareness on cultural differences towards locals. In many activities participants will work in smaller discussion/project groups to meet specific wishes and needs of participants, to be able to immerse deeper into a particular topic and to provoke further cooperation among the different groups. The project consists of two basic parts - Advance Planning Visit and the exchange itself. But we plan to continue with the partners on following project, developing the basis that will be set during this project.
