At the off year meeting in Lund between Lund and its Nordic sister towns the importance and need of emphasizing youth was put on the table. The terms and conditions of youth as a part in the development of the society was put forward. Lund has long experience in involving youth by, for example, the so called Ungdomsting; youthleet. The model is an example youth commitment or interest in the society where ideas is transferred into decisions. The model is inclusive in that sense that all young people can add to the developement and is applicable as a model in other contexts. During the three days meeting in Lund with Nordic sister towns a Nordic youthleet will be planned and executed. As a theme for the youthleet three of UN´s new development goals for sustainable development will be discussed.The goal is- to spread the model as a method of inclusion - to test how the model can inspire or be used as a method for the participating sister towns- to establish a platform for cooperation between youth from the participating countriesOn an european level the aim is to encourage youth to participate and to be included in the democratic life, support the exchange of good examples, mutual learning and cooperation between youth and decision makers as well as the workingforce.Decision-makers and civil servants from the participating sister towns, Lund in Sweden, Hamar in Norway, Borgå in Finland, Dalvik in Island and Viborg in Denmark togehter with 30 young people between 13 and 30 years of age will be engaged in the meeting.The participating youth will be responible for the planning, implementation and the post-production of the youthleet.They will use digital communication during the planning part. The detail planning and implementation will be executed during the three days in June (20-22 of June).Questionnaire and interviews will be planned and executed as a part of the evaluation as well as Youth-pass.The result of the project is to - knowledge of a model of political involvment of youth in the sister towns- competence how the model is applicable in antother context.- empowered young people in their ability to make an impact- knowledge of co-determination of youth- Deeper knowledge in the themes of sustainable developmentThe results will be spread in reports, in political fora, on the homepage of the participating municipalities Long-term- a know-how for change for young people and decision-makers - global experience
