FINISHED
The project "Under EVS Wings" includes the work of sixteen volunteers: 2 from Belgium, 3 from Spain, 2 from Portugal, 3 from Latvia, 3 from Romania and 3 from Germany. They will work in Catholic Cultural Center ”Windmill” with children, youth, and the disabled people and in the “Windmill” Foundation with unemployed people and people with disabilities. 1 volunteer will work in PR department of Foundation "Windmill". Volunteer will also work in kindergarten "Under the Pines".
All volunteers will come to a long-term volunteering lasting 9 months. They will familiarize their students with a diverse culture of Europe by presenting their countries, and instilling a sense of belonging to Europe. Volunteers will also introduce to children, youth, unemployed people and people with disabilities with the history, geography and culture of their countries.
We focus on community service volunteer work for the local community - children, youth and persons with disabilities or on the dole. Innovation and creativity of the volunteer is also important for us. We are open to any new ideas of the volunteers, especially to
promote volunteering.
We are planning to organize several interactive meetings during which volunteers will promote the idea of volunteering and will
distribute a variety of cultural and citizenship in Europe.
The project will increase the personality of volunteers; expand their skills, knowledge of languages and cultures, combating
stereotypes of foreigners, as well as the ones of Poles. Will also deepen knowledge about the European Union and "Erasmus+" in the local community, as well as in-depth sense of belonging to the community of the EU. With many promotional
campaigns, as well as through voluntary work with children, youth and adults awareness and a sense of community on
European Citizenship will be deepened. Young people and children will feel that they are only Poles, but they are also part of
a larger community such as the European Union.
