PROJECT SUMMARY
The “A common language for a Community feel ” project refers to a 15 teachers target of our High School. The purpose is to train professionals with language skills and methodologies tailored to share projects Europe Education. This project represents the first stage in a process that involves a series of activities (mobility, exchanges, projects) for the students of our school in the European dimension.
The activities provided in this first phase are: language courses abroad in English and French to reach the B1/b2 level, courses in CLIL methodology, in-depth teaching courses.
The training will last two years.
At the end of the course, teachers will undergo a test of skill certification to verify the actual results against the objectives envisaged.
On the basis of the achievements (language skills and methodological) teachers build in at least one of their classes, a project (partnership, CLIL, work-study).
In the three years following, a special Commission will assess the results obtained by the classes involved in terms of improving language skills and innovations in teaching practices (use of ICT, laboratory mode).
The choice of training teachers abroad stems from the belief that only through the practice of exchange can trigger the processes of change in terms of cognitive styles and teaching needed to innovative teaching.
The European context is a unique occasion and training for school which gives us the opportunity to interpret the educational needs of students and turn them into opportunities for learning.
The needs of our students in the Language approach is to learn the language and live in a real context of communicative practice where the exchange with the other becomes the motivating factor of knowledge.
For students of Human Sciences, the need is instead to deal directly with other cultures in order to verify all the language hints through knowledge, which is a valuable tool to build real opportunities for cultural relativism.
To satisfy these needs, teachers have to acquire an experiential-knowledge skill set that makes them able to interact with our European partners and then share this opportunity with students.
The values proposed by European Directive are equity, social cohesion and active citizenship. Through integration we want to activate a system of innovations within the educational institution.
