Project ARTISTS FOR ARTS EDUCATION 2 aims to complement the educational curriculum for the profession of painting and sculpture designer with relevant knowledge and skills so that the learners, once they graduate from school, would be more competitive in the labour market (training for the job of assistant to the professional artist) or in continuing their education at the tertiary level. The project connects the Croatian Association of Fine Artists as an umbrella organization of professional visual artists, 5 schools of applied arts in Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, Pula and Osijek and two cultural organizations from abroad, which organize the implementation of training.29 learners who are being educated for the profession of painting and sculptural designers from five Croatian cities will participate in the mobility, as well as five accompanying person. Learners will undertake a 2-week mobility in Austria (Graz) and in Slovenia (Maribor). Mobility will consist of a 10-day traineeship that takes place at the artistic studio under the supervision of a mentor - professional artist. During practice, learners assist in the production of a new work of art - painting or sculpture. In addition to that, mobility contains a rich cultural program and activities to connect the learners with the local community. The project also provides numerous impacts for learners, for schools, for the HDLU and the receiving partners. Learners receive relevant international working experience that the current educational system does not provide and this contributes to their employability and competitiveness. Schools benefit from internationalization, build their staff capacities and get contacts for further international cooperation. HDLU works actively as a representative of the profession to improve the education system in the Republic of Croatia, and through project strengthens the capacities of its members. Receiving partners get an opportunity for reciprocal cooperation and expansion of its activities.Project is a continuation of a successful project Artists for Arts Education 1 from 2015./2016., which represents the first project within Erasmus + program for 5 schools of applied arts from Croatia.
