FINISHED
The project Learn and Study in EU focuses on professional development of pedagogical staff of Medical College and Secondary Medical School in Hradec Kralove (Vyššíi odborná škola zdravotnická and Středni zdravotnická škola in Hradec Králové). The project focuses on long life education of teachers, the increase of their proficiency competence levels and the increase of their motivation and willingness to work on European projects.
The main goal of the project is to provide teachers' taking part in language and methodological courses in English/German, to increase communicative skills, language knowledge, to develop new and innovative approaches to teaching and learning , to get to know information of history and life in the countries of the European Union , to obtain contacts with both teachers of English/ German and native speakers.
Fourteen teachers will take part in the project, each of them will attend a fourteen - day methodological/ language course. Three teachers of English will travel to Ireland, five teachers will go to the UK- two of them are teachers of English- they will attend a course in Scotland, one teacher of general subjects and two teachers of special subjects will go to England. Three teachers of English and two teachers of general subjects will attend courses in Malta, one teacher of German will go to Germany.
The project is being planned for two years and teachers will attend the courses to increase their communicative competence level in a foreign language and their methodological skills.
Obtained knowledge and skills will be used by teachers during teaching of English, German, general subjects, during getting new contacts in the countries of the EU, during putting European projects into practice.
We suppose that improved language and communicative competence levels will increase the motivation of our teachers to work on European projects such as opportunities for young people, strategic partnerships. Teachers will serve as examples for their students and they will motivate their students in the long term to study English to be able to communicate with citizens in foreign countries, to awaken their interest in Erasmus+ projects, in studying and working across Europe in the future. Students will realise that learning foreign languages is important not only for school results but foreign languages can also serve as an effective means which enables them to discover new cultures which helps to foster a sense of belonging to Europe.
Students will realise the fact that reasonable knowledge of a foreign language gives them the opportunity to study and work across the EU.
