The project “We Learn in Europe” continues successful mobility projects in LLP. In a period of 18 months, it aims at mediating professional foreign internships for 46 participants and 4 accompanying persons. 18 students studying the diploma course for dental technicians will work in dental laboratories in Denmark, Germany and Italy, 6 students of the diploma course for pharmaceutical assistants will gain their experience in Germany, 2 students of the diploma course for dental hygienists will be placed in a dental surgery in Germany, 8 pupils studying to be laboratory assistants and 12 pupils studying applied chemistry will experience the working environment in laboratories in Slovakia.The aim of the project is to mediate a two- to four-week hands-on experience for students and pupils of the listed branches of studies. They will meet a practical opportunity to prove and consolidate their theoretical knowledge and skills and to further expand it.High quality of individual internships will be rendered by applying ECVET methodology, the specific contents of the internships is defined in units of learning outcomes. The participants in the internship will work in foreign teams, with state-of-the-art technological equipment, materials and technologies, they will explore new ways of working, working methodology and working environment of individual foreign workplaces. The project will support the student’s personal growth in improving their self-confidence, responsible approach to work, ability of swift and appropriate decision-making in difficult situations. The life in a foreign language environment will help them to improve their level of German or English general and professional language knowledge, whilst others will check the legibility of Slovak language or acquire basic phrases in Danish and Italian. By disseminating the experience after their return, the students will undoubtedly improve their presenting skills.Having strengthened their professional, social and communicative competencies the internship participants will gain better mobility, adaptability and flexibility potential to find a place in the European labour market. The project is expected to bring about higher motivation for the students to continue their education. Furthermore, it will provide feedback on the quality of the education, which would help to improve it.Specific outcome of the internship comprises an expert portfolio processed by each participant, a CD with results (critical case studies, new professional vocabulary, photo images) including a presentation of the internship, evaluation of the participant according to the criteria outlined in the units of learning outcomes, which will provide documentation for the acknowledging of the internship as well as the Europass Mobilita. The concluding meeting of all participants in the project will constitute a way to present the project to the school, expert public and foreign participants.
