PROJECT
FINISHED
This project is a follow up of a successful implementation of Turiec to Europe, Europe to Turiec 2014 (KA1) project. The connection of VET formal education by schools and non-formal education provided by K.A.B.A. Slovensko (career guidance, adult education, bilan de compétences (BdC)) was a great choice with significant added value for all interested. The schools participated in realization of in the motilities more actively, students gained vocational experience they brought back home. To realize this project was a challenge, since for 2015 we included several innovations.
One most important was implementation of elements of ECVET. During summer 2015 we contacted several ECVET experts for guidance, but it was seminar for ECVET implementation organized by NA (SAAIC) that helped significantly, we were able to guide partners and schools to prepare learning units, evaluation criteria and validation process at sending school. More turns allowed to improve more and more, the last turns were processed best. We plan to use evaluation sheets and learning units through our portal ucetzrucnosti.sk, that serves as feedback platform for students through their „diary“.
We organized many meetings with students, teachers and parents. At the beginning of school year we presented project and possibilities (the interest was higher due last years successful project), during preparation info meetings and BdC course, after return presentation of participants to their peers – this transferred gained knowledge and raised interest in motilities.
Last innovation – combined mobility from two schools (overlap fields). We created teams of 2+2 students from each school and assigned tasks. They had to create communication channels, coordinated themselves and cooperate before, during mobility in foreign environment and language. Feedback on cross-school interaction from participants was positive.
We fulfilled the main goal – to place within vocational practice
- 18 students of Obchodna Akademia Martin in the field business academy
- 28 students of Stredná priemyslená škola Martin in the fields electronics, mechatronics, logistics and technical lyceum to VET schools and training institutes in UK and Czech republic
- 34 students of SOŠ of trade and services in Martin in the gastronomy and hotel services, cosmetics and hairdresser into companies in Italy, Spain and at VET school and its local partners in Poland
- 14 students SOŠ Turany of agricultural entrepreneurship - breeding and horse riding in Italian companies.
In three turns we sent 6 members of schools' management and 8 VET teachers for vocational education to schools in Greece, Czech Republic and Italy.
We succeed in our other goals by successful implementation of ECVET elements – but in the beginning it required studying lot of materials, the schools appreciated new approach to evaluation and validation of gained knowledge, skills and competencies. Teachers and partners joined process and we will improve our use of ECVET further.
Thanks to BdC course we helped students to identify their key skills, involving school management and teachers we prepare grounds for wider cooperation.
In total participated 94 students, 48 in VET institutes and 46 in companies; 6 members of management and 8 VET teachers and 13 more teachers in role of accompanying person. Among main activities (A1) belong 3 rounds of staff mobilities to Italy, Greece and Czech Republic, (A2) 4 rounds of students for 2 weeks to companies abroad to Italy, Poland and Spain and (A3) 4 rounds of students to VET institutes for 2 weeks in UK and Czech republic.
The aim of the project was on practical education and during preparation we will use tools of BdC - KompetenzenBilanz (imported via Leonardo TOI 2012). In maximum available measure we used online tools for monitoring and communication (Skype, email). Goups upon return wrote articles, that were published on websites of schools, coordinator and some were published in regional print media and online portals.
94 students gained practical experience for entering labour in their qualification. 14 teachers/managers gained experience in school management and various VET fields. The participants obtained certificate from partners, Europass Mobility and for BdC. Consortium members gained through mobilities of students and staff new international experience and new partners for further projects.
Implementing this project contributed to increase in number of mobilities in Erasmus+ programme and to spreading good name of the program. The consortium prepares application for Mobility Charter in VET, that ensures long-term cooperation and will motivate foreign partners to send students and teachers to our our region Turiec – thus not only bring Turiec in EU but also bring the best from EU to Turiec.
