In Tribal Europe Youth Exchange 25 participants will discover some of the ancient cultures that are part of Europe.
Through workshops and dynamics of non-formal education and activities in the natural environment , we will discover how our ancestors adapted to the environment in which they live , defining a cultural identity , which in many cases has remained to this day in the form of rituals and traditions . From the forest in the National Park of Garajonay , we will discover the secrets of the Gomerian whistle , stick game , Canarian wrestling , traditional medicine , Aboriginal cuisine, and archaeological remains of the people who colonized the Canary Islands over 2000 years ago.
We will learn more about the influence of other European peoples and cultures that have merged in the Canaries over the centuries , forming a unique cultural identity fruit of coexistence.
In addition participants will share the cultures of their regions of origin, and for 8 days of outdoor activities more young people will come to the legacy of the pre - roman , cultures of the Sami in Finland, the Livonian in Latvia, the Magyars in Hungary the Seklers in Transylvania , in addition to Gomerites .
We want Tribal Europe in La Gomera, will be the first in a series of youth exchanges that happen over the next few years in other European countries, so that educational work will continue over time and reach as many young possible .
Together we will discover the influence of our ancestors can still be found today in the rituals and traditions that shape the cultural diversity that enriches todays Europe.
