PROJECT
FINISHED
The TRIAS project develops an innovative approach of guidance called "TRIAS Guidance in the workplace" and for this purpose focuses on strengenthing the capacities and competences of guidance practioners, to increase the range of guidance services and to reach out to the group of the low qualified as one of the most important target groups in adult education. "Guidance in the workplace" is an outstandingly promising approach to outreach education and guidance work - with the goal of providing guidance services to clients, who do not usually use guidance services autonomously. That means: Guidance practitioners directly approach companies to offer low-treshold guidance to their employees. The TRIAS project therewith directly adressses the objective of promoting outreach education work as it can be found in the EU action plan on adult education.
"TRIAS Guidance in the workplace" leads to a new activity field of guidance services with very particular challenges for guidance practitioners as companies have to be included in the familiar client-counsellor-relationship. They have to find access to companies, but also know about the corporate way of conduct and organisation human-development-strategies. And additionally they have to expand their guidance and consulting portfolio to include promising and innovative concepts like workbased learning (WBL).
For this purpose the project uses experiences of the organisation-based qualification consulting, which means the consulting of companies on educational issues. Existing knowledge on company-based approaches, methods and consulting tools are gathered, prepared and adapted for the use of guidance practitioners. By focusing on employees as well as employers, the usual distinction into clientsbased and companybased approaches is reversed and both approaches are integrated into the more sustainable formate of TRIAS guidance. TRIAS guidance promotes the trialogue of three essential actors, to initiate educational processes: guidance practitioners as initiators, employees as clients and educational subjects as well as companies as partners for implementing further education.
The TRIAS project directly works for and with the target group of guidance practitioners/adult educators. For becoming able to actively work in the field of "guidance in the workplace", they need additional competences and know-how. The TRIAS-project compiles a text book (O2) for self-study purposes and develops a training format/curriculum (O3) including its piloting. Therewith the project strengthens the quality and competences of the work of the guidance practioners in this innovative field of action. Around 60 guidance practitioners will participate in trainings seminars within the TRIAS project.
An additional focus of the project is working with stakeholders to sustainably embed the new guidance approach in the national educational landscape. The dialogue with policy makers and other stakeholders in the field of adult education, guidance and labour market (about 100 persons and 20 further education providers will be reached) will be fostered during the whole project period but especially by organising multiplier-events in each country, to further the transfer of the results into national contexts and increase the policy impact.
The products of the project will all be elaborated within the project partnership using an analytically structured and facilitated process in five mutual learning seminars (MLS). Based on thematic expertise and good-practice-experiences the inputs will be refined and transformed into concrete results.
